MOAB is here

Sean has posted his piece on blogging here:

http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/02/13/the_sportblog_six_months_on_so.html

I would just ask anyone coming here from it to please read the posts, and not react on impressions.

You are all welcome to post replies.

I should also point out I have never deleted a post from my boards, this is not a criticism of the sports blog - but a defence against any accusations that we are mischief making. Everything that has been said is here to read.

Ebren, a particularly good comment from you on Sean's thread. I wonder if all the people telling us to "get a life" will be heading this way. No doubt their lives are too fulfilling for them to bother.

Hey, if you lot found anywhere good to get a life from, let me know. Thanks!
Seriously, anybody who actively reads/contributes to blogs is in a glass house when it comes to suggesting others lack a life.
Surely there isn't too much need for this blog now anyway? get yourselves back to GU.

Hello guys, the blog was fine today since I didn't have too much expectation, no less than a customer-service job or lip-service so to speak.
It is ending with the same crap as usual, down to:"would you be my Valentine?buny?" joonyboy's best. And this is the blog of the blogs supposed setting the blue print of perfection.

Hi Guys. The MOAB's put me in mind of Gulf War 1. That was meant to be the Mother of All Wars, but it missed its target, got caught up in petty bickering and in the end, solved nothing.

Glendenning as Stormin' Norman, anyone?

I said I'd let it go on MOAB - but CLM76 just quoted this thread almost word for word.

Of course it might be a case of great editors thinking alike, or fools seldom differing.

Hard to tell.

But if anyone else wants to reproduce my comments and links from here to there - go for it. I shan't whinge about it any more than usual.

It would be great to get a seani post here as well.

Ebren,

I thought CLM76 was one of your many aliases...

Offside, almost all the comments are from me and my aliases.

I've been freaking people out with my "andrewm" alias for months, my "SirOliverReed" alias was doing well but got banned - as did my "afganistanban" alias which I used to insult myself with.

In fact - to share a secret - there are actually only three people posting on GU, and they were all employed by the Guardian so the threads are frequently updated to boost Google rankings and therefore advertising revenues. We work in a room in Crouch End, chuckling away to ourselves and firing off emails to the knowledge, fiver, and OBOs/MBMs.

I count the creation of "miro" as one of the greatest pieces of creative writing ever, but it wasn't actually me that did it.

Don't tell the writers though - it would crush them.

Soooooo, this is all for my benefit then?

I could sense something wasn't quite right but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Actually, if you're also Hollins can I just let you know how mind-boggingly obnoxious you are?

No, no, Hollins is one of the other two.

The fat one.

Ebren,

just a thought before I go to bed... have you been writing some of my posts? And how long have you been doing it?

I don't know why I expected anything better. I also don't know why I let myself get dragged into an argument with that clown jonnyboy. Apologies to all for lowering the tone of what should have been a good thread. I knew I should have stayed in retirement. Like Evander Holyfield I had delusions of reaching the top again. You see, it can happen to fans as well as professionals.

Night all.

Andrewn, the jonnyboy is a masterpiece isn't he? I treated him badly myself after the "bunny" story, deleted on the spot then he denied being the author after the damage was done....

Marcela, among others, noted your absence from the blogs.

I think a lot of the hard questions went un-answered, while the more facile ones were left up.

We have a new toy that has already got me in trouble.
